Cassandra Infante began dancing at the young age of five at Escondido Dance Arts and later at New West Ballet School. She was a member and later an Officer of her High School Dance Team, where her solo earned her the title of First Runner-up at USA nationals, among others. She was a scholarship recipient with both Tremaine Dance Conventions and the Joffrey Ballet School summer trainee program in New York City.
Miss Infante has been blessed with a long and varied career as a professional dancer. She has performed with Lawrence Welk Resort theater (musical theater), Palomar College Dance Ensemble (jazz) and Mojalet Dance Collective (modern), among others.
In 2002 Miss Cassi returned to her first love, ballet, and joined the California Ballet Company as a member of the Corps de Ballet. Rising quickly through the ranks, she was promoted to soloist and then principal dancer by 2004. In 2007 she was promoted to the coveted rank of ‘Ballerina’ after her breathtaking performance as the lead in Giselle. Her other roles with California Ballet include the “Sugar Plum Fairy” in The Nutcracker, solos in Les Sylphide, Paquita, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, and Dracula, and the title roles in Alice and Wonderland, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, and of course her personal favorite, Giselle.
Miss Infante began teaching at the young age of sixteen and has grown to be one of the most demanded teachers and choreographers in San Diego County. In 1997 she was hired by the United Spirit Association’s dance department, and through USA she has had the opportunity to teach at High School and Junior High dance camps throughout the Western United States. She has served as a Head Instructor for USA and as a member of the program development team, and has served as a judge for both regional competitions and at USA Nationals. She was also an assistant choreographer for the Super Bowl half-time show in 1999.
Miss Cassi's awards include USA’s MVP award for 2006 and 2009, and the Coach of the Year award for 2009 from the California Association of Dance Team Directors. Her choreography has received numerous awards in the competition circuit and has been acclaimed in California Ballet’s annual Choreographer’s Concert. She has also served as the Artistic Director for New West Ballet Theatre’s Nutcracker, and has staged and choreographed many ballets of her own.
As the mother of two young children herself, Miss Infante is excited to provide an encouraging studio family for the NCAD community. She believes every child has the potential for growth through dance not only as a dancer, but also as a person, and she is committed to excellence in dance training and in bringing out the best in each individual that comes to NCAD.
Trained at Centro de Ballet y Arte in Mexico based on Cuban technique and the Vaganova Method and has also received an associate degree in Dance (C.E.C.A.M.). He joined the Compania de Danza de Baja California and was promoted to Principal Dancer shortly after,In 2003 he was a Soloist with The California Ballet Company and also worked as a Guest Artist in various ballet companies and Schools around the Unites States.
His repertoire includes featured roles in full length ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Carmen, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Giselle, Paquita, The Firebird, Tarantela, Who Cares, Ballet Imperial, Spanish Serenades, Suite Vivaldi, and Peter Pan as well as in many other classical, neoclassical and modern ballets.
Mr. Infante has also appeared as a Guest Artist with Festival Ballet Theatre, The San Diego Symphony, The San Diego Opera, The Ballet Conservatory of San Diego, New West Ballet Theatre, Merced Civic Ballet, San Francisco Youth Ballet, The California Ballet School and Company, Intercity Ballet Theatre, Alaska Ballet and in The International Mainly Mozart Festival presented in Mexico and the United States dancing along some of the top Ballet stars in the world such as Polina Semionova, Patricia Barker, Carla Korbes, Irma Morales among many others.
As a ballet instructor and choreographer, he has worked with multiple dance studios in the San Diego area. In addition to serving as an Artistic Director of North County Academy of Dance, Mr. Infante has coached and choreographed solos and group dances for dance competitions where his students have won numerous awards and scholarships, including The Youth American Grand Prix finals in New York City.
His students have been accepted into various Summer Intensives and year round programs such as The Kirov Academy of Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Orlando Ballet, The Rock School of Dance, American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School Burklyn Ballet, Southland Ballet Academy, Complexions Ballet, Buttler University, Fordham University, Boston Conservatory, The Joffrey Ballet School and trainee programs, San Francisco Ballet School, The English National Ballet School, North Carolina School of the Arts.
He received the "Dancer of the Year Award" presented by The California Ballet Association and was selected to be a part of an International Cultural Exchange, performing in multiple venues throughout Munich, Germany.
As an NCAD Director, He enjoys bringing the very best out of every student.
